On the 3rd floor of the building hosting adidas showroom and a Chinese restaurant, Great Wall, one could easily miss this place. Serves north Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, a nice bar along side serves liquor.

Food matches the good ambience, but limited mocktails didn't impress me. Since i went for a lunch, had to abstain from variety of cocktails. Worth a visit, though pricing is on a slightly higher side. Buffet lunch on weekdays is priced at 225 Rs (plus taxes).

My recommendation: There were few people on a Sunday afternoon i went, unlike in other restaurants. Try out this place for nice ambience and good north Indian food on a lazy weekend.Sandeephttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10051492631822360008noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5438455677846652861.post-2725731241930365892008-06-10T04:39:00.000-07:002008-06-11T02:07:56.259-07:00Buffet lunch around IndiranagarThe Village

The Village
Location: MSK Plaza, 3rd Floor, 100ft road, Indiranagar.
Landmark: Cafe coffee day
Phone: 080-41263331, 41263332
Cusine: North Indian
Speciality: Lunch Buffet
Cost: Rs.150/- per person for lunch buffet
Otherwise, > 500 for 2

Located on the bustling street on 100ft road Indiranagar, The Village supposedly has the ambience of a village albeit with comfortable chairs and dining area. It will blow you over! The food is delicious, or I would say, as delicious as it gets in Hong Kong… right from the various chats (had bhel puri today), you can expect both North Indian and South Indian culinary in the buffet! It is owned by the BJN Group of hotels, who are famous for coming up with new theme-based restaurants.

The Speciality of this Restaurant is that it takes you back in time, when travelling by train was a luxury, which only the Royalties could afford. You have the entire restaurant in the form of Train compartment of the 17th century. The Restaurant captains are dressed at Ticket Collectors.

What makes the experience perfect are the old hindi movie songs picturised on trains, playing softly in the background. They gel so well with the rest of the ambience that you are drifted back in time!!

The vegetarian dishes are particularly luscious! And the desserts to die for!

My recommendation: You should visit this place on a special occasion, to have a quiet, romantic dinner, with your special someone! Spending a little extra wont hurt then ;) And yes, if you have a shaukeen-mizaz, then I would also recommend you to try their Meetha Paan! Ummmm.... :)Novahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09297884866216563721noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5438455677846652861.post-11080908141972427732007-08-08T09:44:00.000-07:002007-09-26T01:38:52.807-07:00Popsies

Location: Koramangala 5th block, On the road parallel to JNC
Cuisine: Chinese
Speciality: American Choupsey
Cost: >100 for 2

This is a small, elegant, ethnic place right in the heart of Koramangala. But, you go there on a weekday or a weekend, you are bound to stand there in waiting. This is a tesimony enough of the popularity of the restaurant amidst North-Indian-food-loving population.

At all times, you will find owners sitting right there. Uncle taking care of the accounts, while aunty coming back and forth from the kitchen. This ensures that quality is never compromised on. You can always count on great punjabi food...

My Recommendation: If ur office happens to be near MG Road and you are bored of office food daily, Queens is the perfect place to try out some great punjabi food, like Makke di roti and Sarson da saag... Ummm...
